🧠 Have you ever heard of neurotechnologies? Attention-monitoring headsets, neurofeedback devices, or immersive gaming accessories? All of these can collect brain data (neurodata) about you: highly sensitive information that can reveal what you feel, how you react, and, in the near future, even what you think. As these technologies become increasingly advanced, it is essential to start discussing how our neurodata should be protected.
📖 We are pleased to announce the launch of the “Mind Your Mind” guide, dedicated to the protection of neurodata, on the occasion of Brain Awareness Week 2026. The guide was initiated by Prof. Dr. Ioana R. Podină, Director of the Clinical Cognitive Sciences Laboratory and President of the MINDCARE FOR ALL Association, and was developed within the Ethics and Society Committee of EBRAINS, in collaboration with the International Brain Initiative. Alexander Tudose, a member of LSCC, contributed to the initial version. The aim of the guide is to provide the general public with essential knowledge about neurodata: what it is, why it matters, and how it can, and should, be protected.
📌 The guide is currently available only in English and includes a practical neurodata privacy checklist, concrete advice for consumers, and dedicated sections on children’s protection. A Romanian version will be made available soon.
