The Laboratory of Cognitive Clinical Sciences (LCCS) supports and promotes our partners’ initiatives MINDCARE FOR ALL, dedicated to understanding and improving mental health in Romania.

The report „Radiography of Mental Health in Romania”is a project developed by MINDCARE FOR ALL based on data from Eurobarometer 530 (European Commission, 2023)and provides a comprehensive and evidence-based analysis of the state of mental health in Romania, shedding light on the challenges, inequalities, and perceptions that shape how our society understands and responds to psychological issues.

The research findings show that:

  • Nearly half of Romanians (42%) have faced mental health difficulties in the past year;

  • Over 60% have not sought professional help;

  • High costs, fear of judgment, and lack of trust in available services remain the main barriers to accessing support;

  • Stigma against people facing mental health problems persists at social, educational, and even medical levels.

This project is part of the MINDCARE FOR ALL #StigmaFREE campaign, a national initiative promoting equitable access to psychological support, fighting prejudice, and building a culture of empathy, openness, and understanding.
